Glad I didn't get suckered into buying this one:

  1. Why didn't they ask you to proof the english?

  2. I think you should have gotten one! A great reminder of your days in Japan (if, in fact, you don't end up there. I kind of want one, actually (if I didn't already have a million shirts).

  3. No one ever asks the English teachers to check their shirts. I don't know why...

  4. Laura, Vaughn is right - they rarely ask us for proofing. I am starting to get more requests from the information desk in Zamami on things that matter, but I think with these shirts they don't actually care if the English is correct since I am the only person likely to notice. To them, the coolness of having English words on the shirt is outweighed by the effort necessary to make sure the spelling/grammar is correct. This is apparent by walking through any mall and looking at all the "Engrish" shirts in store windows.

Wren, while your sentiment crossed my mind, I am also in the "I already have 25 shirts, what I am going to do with this year's 3 marathon shirts?" camp. Just too many to justify taking on another one (and having to pay for it). If I was going to pay I'd probably peruse the stores as there are some real winners out there.
