My parents bought me the Singh-Ray Vari-ND filter for Christmas this past year. It's a variable neutral density filter, which means that I can block out the light that is reaching the sensor. So if I go to the beach early or late when the light is already low, I can block it even further and get motion blur in the water. I've just started experimenting this weekend, but I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with it.

It's an algae-covered rock.
Wondered what that was. Cool!
